Things are falling into place!

Alright so I kind of suck at keeping up on here. In my defense, I don't have a laptop so I'm doing this all from my iPhone/iPad. And it's just plain annoying. Hopefully this Christmas I will be completing the trifecta and getting a MacBook. Fingerscrossed!

Today it is officially my birthday week. Yes I am one of those people to drag out my birthday as long as possible. Sorry, not sorry.

Those of you that don't actually know me, I just started working in a salon. It was a long road to get here, which will probably be another post. I've had my cosmetology license almost exactly a year. I started at this awesome place where I've actually gone to get my hair done since I was a little one. It's small, but it's seriously a perfect fit for me. There's five of us girls and they're all awesome! They've helped me so much already. Anyways, starting out in a salon is hard work. My income is solely based on how many guests I get a day and what services I perform. I get no hourly income. This has it's advantages, I pretty much get to make my own schedule, and it's disadvantages, no guests equals no monies. It has been a little rocky the last few months. But this Saturday there was a little glimmer of hope. I was busy! And when I say busy I mean running around, fitting people in where I could, and uncontrollable boob sweat. Yea gross I know, but hey it's the truth. It really renewed my love for doing hair and solidified to me that I made the right decision to take that leap of faith and do this. The universe really does reward you when you go out of your comfort zone and do something kind of scary.

Since I'm feeling pretty awesome I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes. 'If your dreams don't scare you they're probably not big enough.'
'Sometimes you just have to close your eyes, take a breath, and jump.'
Happy Monday y'all!

Recap

So since my weekend is Sunday-Monday, Tuesdays will be my weekend recap days. Starting with Friday. On the way home from work I met up with my bestsisterfriend (inside joke) Abby and our other friend Molly at our favorite Mexican spot for a few too many margaritas. Once I got home I met up with the boy and we decided to go out to one of our favorite sports bars. And by that I mean the only one in town. I was already feeling froggy, and the drinks were going down way too easily. Needless to say, the night ended with my very first bar girl fight. (sorry mom and dad) Kidding, I wouldn't even call it a fight. More like a really awkward argument. Anyways, I woke up Saturday with an awful headache and queezy stomach. I went to work for a few hours and came home, napped and did the only thing that really cures a hangover, ate some really awful food. Saturday was the Michigan/Michigan State football game so the boy headed out to the same sports bar to watch the game with the guys. I took that opportunity to pamper myself, called up my sister and went to the mall for a much needed  pedicure. It was fabulous.  As I was settling in for the night I got a call to get ready because we were heading to the casino. Remember when I said my boyfriend is the king of last minute? Yea, prime example. So I got ready and he picked me up and we set off with another couple to the casino 2 hours away. I set myself up at the roulette table, I'm still a beginner gambler so it's about all I can handle. After losing $30 ouch I walked away and went to watch the boys play black jack.  I think next time I might actually be ready to play. It was an awesome, spur of the moment trip. Evennnnn more spur of the moment. We have been talking about saving money and not doing Christmas gifts for each other and taking a trip in the spring. Monday afternoon we were just hanging out being lazy when he started looking at tickets to universal studios. We found a deal on tickets and he completely surprised me when he decided we were going for my birthday in two FRICKING weeks! We are driving, and I'm soooo beyond excited for a fun road trip and a few days away. We are going to universal studios, but most importantly the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Gahh, confession: I've just recently gotten into Harry Potter. Unamerican, I know. Hey, better late than never. I'm ready for some butter beer, chocolate frogs and most importantly warm weather. I am counting down the hours. The only bad thing about a last minute trip to Florida.. I only have to weeks to start to feel decent about myself in a bathing suit. Meh. Anyways I'll leave you with this picture. It was just the proof, and the phone number and address had to be changed. It ran in the local paper, so yea I'm kind of famous.
